Coal India Ltd Marketing and Distribution of Coal and Fuels

Coal India Ltd and its accessories is the major patron of coal.299.52 Million Tonnes of coal was produced by Coal India Ltd and its attachment companies during April 2010 to December 2010 as against the  product of295.51 Million Tonnes during the same period for the time 2009- 10 showing a growth of1.4.  Coal Distribution and Marketing, the Marketing Division of CIL coordinates marketing conditioning for all its accessories. CIL has set up Regional Deals services a Sub- Deals services at named places in the country to feed to the requirements of the consuming sectors in colourful regions.  Demand and force The Committee noted that the coal demand- force gap has increased from15.5 MT in 2015-16 to55.3 MT in 2016- 17.

The increase in this gap was due to restrained demand for coal from colourful sectors similar as power and cement. The increased gap between the demand and force during 2016- 17 was primarily due to coal stock formerly piled up at thermal power stations. Further, force of coal by Coal India Limited (CIL) has constantly shown a rising trend since 2014- 15. The Committee recommended that the demand protrusions for coal be revised to reflect the factual demand across sectors. 

Distribution of coal to small, medium and other consumers  

Under NCDP, the State Governments Union homes were entrusted the responsibility for distribution of coal to consumers having demand up to, 1000 tons per annum. The coal is to be distributed through agencies nominated by the separate States/ UTs. An aggregate of 8 Million Tonnes have been allocated annually for distribution through the State Nominated Agencies who would be drawing coal after prosecution of FSA with the concerned coal company.
